I bought a Caddie Wheel to use...as a caddie! The main reason I purchased it was to be available in case I needed to carry two bags on short notice. I'm 73, and prior to acquiring a motorized trolley option, I only would carry a single bag. My golf course is a walking-only property, and pushing a golf cart is much tougher than carrying a reasonable golf bag. (Lots of long uphill climbs.)
My Review:
1. Installation of the brackets on my Big Max Blade trolley was relatively easy, although I had to use my laptop computer to show the instructions/photos. The zip ties work well, and the included metal zip tie tightener/cutter is very helpful!
2. Likewise, attaching the bracket rod and handle was pretty simple, using the included Allen wrench tool. It's solidly attached.
3. Although there are no instructions about charging the motor battery or the remote, (i.e. when is the battery fully-charged?), I assumed that a green light on the charger indicated a full charge. I assumed correctly.
4. I referred to a YouTube video on the Caddie Wheel website for how to use the device, and it was useful. The first time I used the setup was last Monday, at my golf course, though I was playing, not caddying.
Bottom Line: It works as advertised. I soon discovered that in the rough terrain of my golf course, the safest method of use is to maintain a hand on the cart at almost all times. It's definitely NOT an SUV! But coordinating the remote throttle/brake and hand-steering my trolley was pretty easy, and it took minimal effort going up the many steep hills.
5. Although Caddie Wheel advertises the battery should last for 36 holes, that's not the case when used on my course, which is about 8 miles long with the aforementioned steep terrain. But it did easily last for 18 holes, with some reserve.
6. Customer Service: I've been very happy with the before/during/after purchase communication with the company. I received very clear and accurate shipping information, and I'm confident that if I experience any issues that the company reps will be very responsive.
7. Price: I've saved the best for last! This technology is an exceptionally reasonably-priced device, and appears to be of high quality components. When compared to the standard motorized trolleys available, the Caddie Wheel is the best bargain by far! I highly recommend it as an alternative method for adding power to your trolley/push cart.
Good product. Pricey due to tariff added on … I enjoy using it. I had a problem threading rod through hole that secures it to the bracket because it was too big for the hole. Have alerted company
I shaved the hole with a drill and it fit after that
It totally works as advertised. It pushes my heavy bag, with a full set of clubs, water, lunch etc. and the battery looks like it could do two rounds of 18. The remote is intuitive and the battery is robust. Setup is a half hour and the helpful illustration for my cart (Clicgear 3.0) allows my cart another life. A cart with a rotating front wheel would allow for easier guidance, a friend pointed out. I like to walk under an umbrella due to previous sun damage and this setup allows that. The wheel can slip on wet grass or loose gravel but otherwise I really think it's genius.
Helpful videos aid the setup and it works as advertised. I get to keep my old cart, heavy bag with a full set of clubs, my lunch and water, and it helps me push it all. The battery barely used 2/4 bars over 18 holes and the remote battery still had a full charge so the extra battery pack they give you for that probably isn't going to get used. Charges quickly too. But the main reason I got it was that I like to walk under my umbrella as I've had sun damage and this setup allows that. (Clicgear 3.0). The only caveat is that the wheel slips on wet grass or a gravel cart path. Not sure if a different tread design might help but I really like the unit.
I’m a three time cancer survivor. I have been in cancer free for two years. I have not been able to walk a round of golf with my push cart ever since treatment. The Caddy wheel has changed everything for me. Walking around the golf is no problem now and I love the fact that I’m back up and walking a course again.
